Explanation of CaSSOA (Caravan Storage Site Owners Association) Gold Award
CaSSOA Inspectors produced a checklist to tick off when they visited the various storage sites.
Each was given a mark ranging from very good to not recommended - and the overall marks were used to decide whether the site should be given a Gold, Silver or Bronze award.
Criteria used during inspection was; Location; Security; Safety; Protection from the Elements; Access Control. Those achieving Gold scored "good" or "very good" across the board. Very few sites inspected received a Gold award.
The 'Gold Award' holders are of course 'La creme de la creme'.
These sites are in good sheltered locations and have very high standards of security together with the necessary fire fighting equipment. This is the standard everyone should strive for.
